Time- Why you think you have none.

Have you ever stepped back and really thought about time and all different phrases that we use everyday to talk about time?
“A race against time,” “time flies,” and maybe the one you hear the most “if I only had more time.”
Look around you right now. I bet there are at least 3 devices that have the time visible on them, or one tap away, within your line of sight right now. It is no wonder we are obsessed with time.
For all that obsession, time is the one thing that we cannot control. 60 seconds is always a minute, 60 minutes will always be an hour, and 24 hours will always be a day.
There is absolutely nothing we can do to make or acquire or produce more time. Time becomes the great equalizer in life.
What we can control is how we use that time. Your commute can be time wasted, or you can make that productive time to listen to a podcast or book that you have been looking to catch up on. Waiting in the checkout line can be unproductive time scrolling Facebook, or it can be used to message a someone you have been meaning to talk to.
Time and its hold on us begins and ends with mindset. If you are in the habit and mindset of wasting time, I could give you all the time imaginable and it would never be enough. But with the proper mindset, time becomes irrelevant.
A task is started and completed effectively and as efficiently as you can complete it. Does it matter how long it took, or is it more important that it is complete?
Last week it took me 49:32 to run 5 miles. Does anyone care that I could have gotten it done in 49:00 if it were not for that car that I waited for in the cross walk? The completion of the 5 miles, the task that was done, is all that matters.
Ask yourself, what will you DO with the time you have?
I guarantee your actions will be proof of your success.
Those that are successful find ways to use the time they have instead of spending it complaining about the time they think they need.
